About Me
He was former Irrigation Engineer in Irrigation and Command Area Development Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh (then Undivided) for 22 years, out of which fourteen years he worked as Faculty Member in Water and Land Management Training and Research Institute (WALAMTARI), Hyderabad.
During his tenure at WALAMTARI, he has trained hundreds of officers of Agriculture Department and Irrigation Department and thousands of Farmers in the area of Irrigation Management and associated issues under World Bank aided Hydrology Project (HP), National Water Management Project (NWMP),Irrigation Water Management Training Project of USAID (United States Agency for International Development) & Andhra Pradesh Economic Restructuring Project ( APERP) i.e.Participatory Irrigation Management(PIM).
He underwent training in many reputed institutes in the area of Irrigation Water Management & Water Resources like WALAMTARI, Hyderabad; National Water Academy, Pune; CWPRS, Pune; CCS-Haryana Agricultural University; Irrigation Management Training Institute (IMTI), Tiruchy;National Institute of Hydrology(NIH), Roorkee; Administrative Staff College of India(ASCI), Hyderabad; Engineering Staff College of India, Hyderabad; National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad; National Geophysical Research Institute(NGRI), Hyderabad; IIT Bombay; IIT Hyderabad; IIT Kharagpur etc.
He underwent six week training in “Applied MicroComputer Use in Irrigation and Drainage “in International Irrigation Centre , Utah State University, Utah, USA in 1992.
Under his able guidance, two batches of students (2003-04 & 2005-06) won the prestigious National Award “ISTE-NIT Kozhikode National Award for Best B.E. Project in Civil and Architecture” during his period at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology(MJCET),Hyderabad.
He was former Founder Principal of Mallareddy Institute of Technology (MRIT),Hyderabad.
He was Key note speaker in the area of Irrigation Management in two national seminars of JNTUH. He is currently guiding two Ph.D students of JNTUH in the area of Water Resources Engineering.
He has thirty two years of Professional experience (includes fourteen years of Teaching experience)
He was former Professor and HOD (August 2013 to March 2017) of the Department of Civil Engineering, Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology(GRIET), Hyderabad. Presently, he is Professor and Dean-Life Skills and Outreach. He is founder coordinator for three centres at GRIET: Centre for Continuous Excellence in Life Skills (CEL),Centre for Water Resources Engineering and Management(CREAM) & Centre for Sustainable Technologies for Eco-Social Resilience to Global Climate Change(CST-ERG).
He has been organizing various competitions from 2011 onwards, on the themes given , on the occasion of Engineers’ day, United Nations (UN)International Day of Peace, UN International Day of Nonviolence and World Mental Health Day; UN World Water Day, UN International Mother Earth day, UN World Health day , UN World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development & UN International Day of Biodiversity.
He has been organizing National Workshops on “ Sustainable Technologies in Civil Engineering: Perspectives and Strategies(STEPS)” from 2011.
He is founder member of Energy Conservation Mission of Institution of Engineers ( India),AP centre( now Telangana Centre) in 2004.
He has delivered thirteen management lectures and five technical lectures at Institution of Engineers(India),Hyderabad from 2001 to 2011.He was resource person at UGC-Academic Staff College of JNTUH for the topic on “Human Resources Management in Engineering Colleges”. He was former member of Board of Studies in Civil Engineering of JNTUH.
